I'm In School!

After much research, hemming and hawing, asking everyone and their dog their opinion, and getting financial things figured out, I decided to start a program at The National Laser Institute in Scottsdale Arizona. I will become certified to perform laser hair reduction, tattoo removal, spider vein treatment, photo facial, cellulite reduction, wrinkle reduction, and the list goes on. I have 5 solid days learning the physics of skin and then 9 days of hands on experience with live models. We even get to practice on each other. I'm hoping to land a job in a Doctor's office after I complete the course. Today was my first day and I had such a giddy excited feeling the whole day like I finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up. It feels great. Thank you to all of you who have helped me get here. You know who you are. Come and see me when I'm done and I'll make you look smokin hot. ;)

I would look forward to the day you can make me smokin hot! Does the facial treatments take away sun and age spots?

I'm so excited for you and can't wait to hear more! Keep up with the updates.

Oh, laser hair removal is right up my alley. I would be happy to be your guinea pig anytime. Good luck!

Amy you would be amazed what treatments can be done for sun damage. Your skin type is actually easiest to treat. Come see me. :)Well after I get a job and have access to a laser.

I just checked to see if you had a new update and I noticed that I never left a comment. Opps...I must have gotten distracted and then forgotten.

Anyway, super excited for your new adventure. I'm anxious to know how the classes went, have you found a job, etc...I love how you just go for it!!!!

Good for you!!! That's great -- you'll be perfect at that job...you have a knack for making people (and things) look good! Plus, you'll just put people at ease! Could you get some training on "perking" things up after nursing four babies while you're up there? ;)

Love you!

Way cool! My skin is similar to Amy's and so someday I may look at these options. I'm so happy for you that you know what you want to be when you grow up! I still haven't figured it out for myself, but for me it might be an evolving journey, not a destination. Going to school is hard being a parent, let alone a single parent, but you can get funding for almost any kind of schooling as a single mom. I know you figured that out! I'm heading back to school soon as well to get pre-recquisites done before hopefully getting into the nursing program at Weber State University. Having a decent paying career to fall back on is needed in this economy with family situations that are unstable. Go get'em Heidi!
